How to Reset or Change Your Password

If you forget your password or want to update it for security, Moodle offers an automated reset option.

Steps

1. Go to your Moodle login page.
2. Click Forgotten your username or password? (sometimes shown as Reset password).
3. Enter either your username or email address (sometimes only one option is available).
4. Check your email for a message with password reset instructions.
5. Follow the link in the email and choose a new password.

Note: If your site uses SSO or a linked organisation login, you may need to reset your password through your company or training provider’s account system instead.

Tips

• Password reset emails may take a few minutes to arrive - check your spam or junk folder.
• If you don’t receive an email, contact the support desk and include your full name and site URL.
